We are extremely proud and excited to be partnering with Samaritan's Feet for the first time ever to raise money for such an important cause. We are hosting a Barefoot Game this year at our Men's Basketball game on February 10 against Virginia. Our Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) members will have a table at the game promoting awareness of this important cause and encouraging individuals to donate $10, which covers the cost of one pair of shoes for a needy child.
As a program we are committed to making an impact not only in our local community but the world community. This game and cause is a way that we feel Maryland Student-Athletes can help make the world a better place. We can't do this alone, so we need YOUR HELP!!!
Our goal is to raise $2,200 in donations over the course of the next few months to help provide shoes to those who don't have them. Our fundraising won't stop after the final buzzer has sounded on February 10, so please don't feel like you have missed out if you cannot attend the game. Every little bit helps, so please consider providing even the smallest donation. Your generosity will directly make an impact on the world as you will be providing shoes to someone that doesn't have the means to buy their own pair.
Millions of children die each year from the spread of disease that are contracted through contaminated soil. Two billion people are infected in more than 100 countries and the solution is SHOES!!! We want our student-athletes to understand that even though this problem doesn't directly impact our team, making a difference in the world is a responsibility we each must take seriously. WE NEED YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT to make this happen!
Please join us February 10 for the game and more importantly please help us out by making a donation. No amount is too little or too large and it is all going to an amazing cause.
